The idea for Ramona's food truck was planted in my mind when, as a kid, I had big ideas about starting a restaurant. After a more recent trip to the Middle East, I was struck by the simple elegance of the cuisine. I especially loved the hummus shops where big bowls of hummus are served with delectable toppings, warm pita and a modest salad.
So I left my hometown for Austin, ditched the office, and started the bright yellow truck where you'll now find us dishing out the hummus and other tasty things.
So who's Ramona? Ramona's is named after a family friend, the hummus queen of the Berkeley, CA hills.
